Hello guys!

Since my boyfriend and I have recently been to Esperance, I thought I would share my experience with you and give you guys some recommendations. If you’re in Australia or planning on visiting soon, I highly recommend Esperance! Esperance is a small and quiet place but it’s lovely, and has probably got some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen! It’s a super long drive or a very expensive flight but it’s worth it!

We drove from Perth to Esperance (which is about an 8 hour drive). We started on a Friday morning and had to be back on Sunday night so I had to plan ahead a little bit. We wanted to see as much as we could in that short amount of time. I booked a scenic flight in advance which was gonna be at Saturday around 4pm.

We left Perth around 5.30am and drove down to Denmark (which is a little town in Australia not the country haha). I thought it wasn’t a big detour… well it was 😀  We arrived in Denmarkafter about 5 hours. By the time we wanted to leave for Esperance, we realised it was still another 5.5 hours away. But it was definitely still worth it to go to Denmark! If you’re there you should definitely visit the Elephant Rocks and the Green Pools. They’re both quite close to one another so you can just walk from the car park to both destinations. It was stunning!

Unfortunately we forgot to go to Albany haha. But it’s kind of on the way from Denmark to Esperance. If you’d take a stop there I’d definitely recommend going to visit the gap, the natural bridge as well as The Two Peoples Bay.

After the next long drive we finally arrived in Esperance. We just had one issue.. I had the biggest shock of my life on the way. I was driving around 110km before a Kangaroo jumped right in front of us. It was unbelievable! As you probably figured I couldn’t stop without hitting it. It smashed against windscreen and I could visualise it laying on our laps haha. Luckily not! It felt over the car and landed quite far away from us. I stopped and I was shaking and almost crying 😀 what a shock! “ cars stopped immediately, super nice people! They asked if we’re okay and one stopped next to the kangaroo to see what happened. After like 2 minutes it literally just hopped away like nothing happened. I was happy that it was still alive!!

Anyway by the time we finally arrived in Esperance we went straight to our accommodation. I was so in love with the little house we stayed in! It was gorgeous. We booked it through Airbnb and paid around 150$ a night. We stayed in a little studio with kitchen and bathroom. The interior design of this little studio was amazing! The place is called Esperance Chalet Village. It’s about a 5 minute drive to the centre of Esperance. If you’re traveling through and you’re camping, I would probably recommend the camping place at Lucky Bay.

So Friday night we just went to bed really early because we were tired from the long drive and wanted to get up early the next morning. First thing in the morning, we realized it’s quite hard to get breakfast in Esperance before 7am :-D. This is just such a quiet place and most of the places were still closed. We went to Dome for breakfast which is a franchising restaurant in Australia.

After the breakfast we drove to the Cape Le Grand National Park (where Lucky Bay and Hellfire Bay are located).

It took us about an hour to get to the national park, and from there everything is super easy to find because there are signs everywhere. We went to Lucky Bay first because this is a beach where Kangaroos are hopping around. We didn’t wanna be there when it’s too busy so we could relax a bit and get close to the Kangaroos without too many people around. It’s so lovely because you can get super close to the Kangaroos and you can even pet them.

After that we went to Hellfire Bay. It was less busy and I would say the beach was also nicer. We stayed there for a bit and went back home to shower before taking our scenic flight at 4pm. The flight was amazing!! We went to the Esperance Airport to meet our Pilot. We were really lucky because we had the whole plane for ourselves! We were flying around for about an hour and the view was amazing! The sun was going down while we were on the plane so the timing was perfect!

We had dinner at a restaurant called ‚Taylor’s St Quarters‚ the food and the location was amazing!! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

On Sunday we got up super early to see the sunrise and after that we went to West Beach. The view to this Beach is amazing and you’ll spot some surfers in the morning. It was definitely to cold for a swim tho! I would recommend going there in summer because Esperance is relatively cold compared to other places in Australia. It’s slowly getting winter and the mornings and nights are pretty cold. So we just enjoyed the view for a bit. After this we went to Blue Haven Beach this beach is beautiful! You’re able to walk around at this huge rocks. I feel like they’re everywhere down there. But it’s super nice to walk at the beach and just keep walking on one of this big rocks then. To get to the Blue Haven Beach we had to walk down a couple of stairs.. by the time we got back up we’ve been warmed up for the next beach haha.

The next one was Twilight Beach. There are 2 beaches next to each other and its just stunning! All this big rocks and the water and the color of the water is amazing. We were more than lucky with the weather because it’s already autumn but we had sunshine all day and it was about 24 degrees (highest). It would have been so sad if it was raining!

At Twilight Beach we went for a swim. The water was super shallow so we could walk quite far out. The water was pretty cold but it was actually alright once we’ve been in. This beach was definitely my favourite! It was so beautiful. A sunset at this beach would probably be amazing but unfortunately we had to leave soon to go all the way back to Perth.

The drive back felt so long, you can’t even imagine, but luckily I had good company! We stopped at the Wave Rock, (which is a like the name says, a rock which looks like a huge wave.) It’s definitely worth it to stop there because it’s on the way back to Perth.
We had such an amazing time so all the hours spent driving were totally worth it!

All the recommendations

• I would go there for around 3-4 days
• go to Denmark and Albany on the way there or on the way back
• Denmark – Elephant Rocks, Green Pools
• Albany – the gap, natural bridge, two people bay
• Esperance – Twilight Beach, Blue Haven Beach, West Beach
• Cape Le Grand National Park – Lucky Bay, Hellfire Bay
• Accommodation – Esperance Chalet Village
• Do a Scenic Flight!

Hey ihr Lieben,

ich war vor ein paar Tagen in Esperance und dachte ich teile meine Erfahrungen mit euch und gebe euch ein paar Empfehlungen. Falls ihr plant mal nach Australien zu fliegen oder sogar zurzeit hier seid würde ich euch Esperance echt ans Herz legen! Es ist ein super ruhiger Ort aber dort sind meiner Meinung nach einer der schönsten Strände Australiens.

Die Fahrt nach Esperance ist zwar super lang aber es lohnt sich definitiv! Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit nach Esperanto zu fliegen, jedoch sind die Flüge recht teuer. 
Wir sind von Perth nach Esperance gefahren, die Fahrt ist normaler weise so um die acht Stunden lang. Wir sind jedoch zuerst noch nach Denmark gefahren, das ist eine kleine Stadt in Australien, die wie ich dachte fast auf dem Weg liegt haha. Ich hab nicht nochmal genau auf die Karte geschaut und im Endeffekt war es so um die 2 1/2 Stunden Umweg. Aber es hat sich trotzdem zu 100% geloht dort extra hin zu fahren! Ich meine wenn man schonmal unten an der Küste ist 😀 
Wenn ihr in Denmark seid würde ich euch auf jeden Fall die Elephant Rocks und Green Pools empfehlen. Die 2 Orte sind super nah aneinander. Dort ist ein Parkplatz von welchem man dann einfach zu Fuß beides echt gut erreichen kann. 🙂 
Es war echt unfassbar schön dort!!

Wir haben versucht im Voraus viel zu planen, um so viel wie möglich in der kurzen Zeit zu sehen. Ich hatte einen Scenic Flight für Samstag Nachmittag gebucht und ansonsten haben wir uns die Dinge aufgeschrieben, die wir unbedingt sehen möchten und haben dann grob geplant, wann wir wo hinfahren.

Wir sind Freitag um 6Uhr morgens in Perth los gefahren und sind dann gegen 18:30Uhr angekommen mit dem Zwischenstopp in Denmark. In Esperance hatten wir uns über AirBnb ein kleines Haus gebucht. Das war vermutlich eine der schönsten Unterkünfte wo ich geschlafen habe, es war einfach echt ein super süßes Häuschen und die Einrichtung war richtig schön und gemütlich. Wir haben für unsere Unterkunft ca 90Euro pro Nacht bezahlt. Die Unterkunft heißt Esperance Chalet Village. Falls ihr nur zum campen nach Esperance fahrt, da ihr auf einem Road trip seid, würde ich vermutlich den Campingplatz in der Nähe von Lucky Bay empfehlen. 

Nach einem kleinen Unfall waren wir dann endlich in Esperance angekommen. Mir ist tatsächlich einfach ein Kangaroo direkt vor das Auto gerannt und ich konnte nicht mehr rechtzeitig bremsen.. Ich dachte echt, es fliegt zu 100% durch die Windschutzscheibe. Wir hatten aber Glück! Es ist gegen die Windschutzscheibe geflogen und übers Auto drüber.. das war glaube ich einer der größten Schocks in meinem Leben! Ich habe so gezittert und mir kamen die Tränen 😀 Die Leute hinter uns haben aber direkt angehalten und gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und ein Mann hat neben dem Kangaroo angehalten. Nach ca 2 Minuten ist es einfach weiter gehüpft. Was eine Erleichterung!! Ich war so so froh, dass es noch am Leben war. 
Naja.. angekommen in Esperance waren wir einfach nur müde von er Fahrt und sind ins Bett gegangen.

Am nächsten Morgen sind wir recht früh aufgestanden, um viel vom Tag zu haben. Wir mussten nur leider feststellen, dass Esperance echt ein ziemlich ruhiger Ort ist haha. Vor 7Uhr morgens war es dort recht schwer irgendwo Frühstück zu bekommen. Wir haben dann bei Dome gefrühstückt, das ist ein Franchising Restaurant hier in Australien. 
Nach dem Frühstück ging es für uns direkt zum Cape Le Grande National Park. Der National Park ist ca eine halbe Stunde Fahrt von Esperance entfernt.

 Wir sind als erstes zu dem Strand Lucky Bay gefahren, da es dort Kangaroos am Strandgibt. Von dem Strand habt ihr vermutlich schonmal gehört?! Dieser ist einer der einzigen Strände in ganz Australien wo tatsächlich die Kangaroos and den Strand kommen. Wir sind dort recht früh hingefahren, damit noch nicht so viel am Strand los ist und man in Ruhe nah an die Kangaroos heran kann. Die sind dort echt unfassbar zutraulich, man kann sie streicheln und auch Fotos mit den Kangaroos machen.

Nachdem es dann etwas voller an dem Strand wurde sind wir zum Hellfire Bay gefahren. Dieser Strand ist ca 5 Minuten Fahrt von Lucky Bay entfernt und hat mir vom Strand her besser gefallen. Dort sind zwar keine Kangaroos aber dafür ist an diesem Strand auch nicht so viel los gewesen 🙂 
Am Hellfire Bay haben wir dann einfach nur entspannt bis es Zeit war zurück zu unserem Haus zu fahren um uns für den Flug, den ich im Voraus gebucht hatte, fertig zu machen.

Ich habe mich so riesig auf diesen Flug gefreut! Sowas kann ich euch an solch besonderen Orten wie Esperance nur empfehlen! 
Wir hatten richtig Glück und hatten das kleine Flugzeug ganz für uns alleine. 
Der Flughafen in Esperance ist super klein und wir waren die einzigen Leute dort. Die Sicht von oben auf die ganzen Strände war hammer schön! Wir hatten richtig Glück und sind kurz vor dem Sonnenuntergang los geflogen also konnten wir den auch noch von oben aus der Luft anschauen.

Zurück am in Esperance angekommen sind wir zum Abendessen zu dem Restaurant Taylor’s St Quarters. Vermutlich mein Lieblings Restaurant in Esperance, die Lage und das Essen sind super!

Sonntag sind wir dann sogar noch früher aufgestanden um den Sonnenaufgang zu sehen. Danach haben wir dann einige Strände in Esperance selbst abgeklappert. 
Der erste Stop war West Beach. Die Sicht von oben auf den Strand herunter ist super schön und man sieht einige Surfer am Morgen. Zum Schwimmen war es definitiv noch zu kalt. In Esperance ist es immer recht kalt für australische Verhältnisse und da hier jetzt so langsam der Winter einbricht, ist es morgens uns abends immer super frisch. 
Als nächstes ging es für uns zu dem Blue Haven Beach, hier gab es einige Stufen zum Laufen, aber es lohnt sich den Weg auf sich zu nehmen. Der Strand ist super schön! Als wir wieder oben angekommen waren, um zum nächsten Strand zu waren war uns dann auch schön warm 😀

Der letztes Stop war für uns der Twilight Beach. Das war definitiv mein Lieblings Strand! Dort sind wir dann auch schwimmen gegangen. Das Wasser ist super flach und man konnte ganz schön weit nach hinten raus laufen. Die Farben vom Wasser sind einfach der Hammer! Ich kam mir echt vor wie im Paradies vor allem war der Strand fast leer, da wir recht früh da waren.

Leider mussten wir dann auch schon wieder zurück nach Perth, da die Fahrt so lang ist.. 
Auf dem Weg zurück haben wir einen kleinen Stop an dem Wave Rock gemacht, dies ist ein riesiger Stein, der aussieht wie eine Welle. Er liegt wirklich direkt auf dem Weg zurück nach Perth und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall dort zu stoppen um sich den Stein anzuschauen. 
Die lange Fahrt hat sich für uns mehr als gelohnt. Wir hatten ein super schönes Wochenende und haben die Zeit genossen!

Hier nochmal die ganzen Tipps als Übersicht.

• Ich würde euch 3-4 Tage dort empfehlen (außer man möchte auch ein paar Tage einfach entspannen)
• Auf dem Hin- oder Rückweg würde ich euch empfehlen nach Denmark und Albany zu fahren
